Week 1 of 20; Summer 2019 Pork Share-Coopers CSA Farm Happenings

Posted on May 31st, 2019 by Coopers CSA Farm

Good Afternoon!

Some things if you are new or just a reminder to our veterans,

  • Make sure you have your preferences set for all of the meat cuts, this is how your share will be made up!
  • All pork shares come FROZEN. Home delivery members, please leave out a cooler with icepacks if you don't plan to be home for delivery.
  • We have an extras section for shopping for pre-made meals & preserves.

New Farm Happenings:

  • Pasture raised everything: Yup even the pigs get to be out side. Pigs are naturally found in the forest! We fence off sections in our back 40 so that the pigs can be outside & do what they love. (digging)
  • Heirloom Breeds: We have two different breeds; Large black & Berkshire. We like these breeds as they are rated the highest for quality & taste. We also like them as they do very well outside, they handle our Canadian winters very well.
  • Different Taste: You may find the taste is different than what you are use to. As they are two unique breeds, their meat has a different taste compared to the more common "pink pigs".

A reminder that our meat is lean with no preservatives, so watch your cooking times and temps! Our cuts tend to cook fast & you don't want to dry out the meat.

~Please return red cooler bags!~

Have a nice weekend!
