Week 1 of 20; Summer 2019 Beef Share-Coopers CSA Farm Happenings

Posted on May 31st, 2019 by Coopers CSA Farm

Good Afternoon!

Some things if you are new or just a reminder to our veterans,

  • Make sure you have your preferences set for all of the meat cuts, this is how your share will be made up!
  • All beef shares come FROZEN. Home delivery members, please leave out a cooler with icepacks if you don't plan to be home for delivery.
  • We have an extras section for shopping for pre-made meals & preserves.

New Farm Happenings:

  • Our pastures are ready for grazing: We like the keep our fields healthy, which means not allowing the cows to graze fields right down to dirt. We practice rotational grazing to control where and how much the cattle eat. It has been a slow start for growing, but the grass is finally grown to a good length so that the herd can get their graze on.
  • Back to Raising Calves: This last fall and winter we have gone back to raising our own herd, we've gone from 40 head to 100 head! With plans to increase. (tell your friends to sign up for our meat share... )
  • Grass Fed Beef: Thats their main diet, we believe this is better for the cows, you, and the quality of the meat cuts.

A reminder that our meat is lean with no preservatives, so watch your cooking times and temps! Our cuts tend to cook fast & you don't want to dry out the meat.

~Please return red cooler bags!~

Have a nice weekend!
