Week 3 Winter/Spring Cooper's CSA Farm Happenings

Posted on December 1st, 2018 by Coopers CSA Farm

Well it's officially December!!

I don't know about all of you but I love the holidays, mostly for the food.

Steve & Lisa are are shortly returning home from their week long "Vacation" in the beautiful province of MANITOBA. The thing about Farmers is that our 'get aways' are usually to other farming events, and these events seem to never happen in Bermuda... They were at the annual National Outstanding Young Farmers week long event. This meant that the farm was left to myself & their son Trenton, so far nothing has caught fire ! **aggressively knocks on wood**.

This was a week of really focusing on the never ending 'To-Do' list. Big one was fixing fence! If you thought your job was exciting well let me tell you about fixing some fence!.... :/ There is a lot of fence to fix. With the new Cow herd that is still expanding we need some more fenced in pastures. We will also been weaning calves soon and they will need their own pen.

We have also good news for all of you that hate the dreaded "MOM/DAD WHATS FOR DINNER" after a long work day. The days are short, it is dark at 5pm, you already feel behind on Christmas shopping and you have no energy to cook anything, but you still want the fam to get a good meal..we can help you there. Check out the extras section when ordering or you can find them in the store when you come by, we have a big re-stock in our pre-made meals department. We have pulled pork, pulled buffalo chicken, soups, Chicken Pot Pie, Beef Tourtiere & shepherds pie. They are all pre-made so you can pop them in the oven any open a bottle of what ever you'd like.

If your looking for one quick holiday gifts to throw in a basket or to give that cow-worker you don't really know at the secret Santa, we have lots of preserves, jams, and some maple syrup. Delicious & super quick.

Cheers everyone,
