Farm Happenings for August 4, 2022

Posted on August 1st, 2022 by Chris DeVries

LAST week to buy discount tickets for our festival!  Add them to your share now (regular priced tickets will still be available after this).

Fresh spanish onions! They are nearly full size and we will be harvesting our entire crop next week.  We have the very start of our watermelons this week, but if you don't get a chance to get one this week, don't worry it looks like we will have a LOT next week!

Even though we have our harvest thoughts on all the new summer vegetables that have started to come in, we are actually hitting the end of all our main plantings for fall.  This week the last of our fall carrots will be seeded and our first big seeding of beets for fall/winter storage.  There's still a lot for us to do in terms of weeding and harvest, but the planting session is closing for many crops.

This week we will have peaches from Great Lakes Farms and we still have blueberries from Bluegroves this week too.  We also have a larger amount of carrots this week from our farm as well as the first of our yellow potatoes.
