Farm Happenings for July 21, 2022

Posted on July 17th, 2022 by Michael Hoke

We finally got some rain this morning!  This is good news. Although we've been able to keep everything irrigated over this past month dry spell, the rain does a much more thorough job than we can do.  the crops immediately seem to look better after the rain!  This watermelon is a promise of things to come soon.  We may have gone a little crazy with melons this summer so we hope you like them.  Get ready for a serious load of melons in August!

This week we don't have carrots to offer.  We are waiting until next week when we have a beautiful new planting ready and we will have lots for everyone to order then.  We will continue to have our new red potatoes.  Note that because they are a new crop, they are more perishable and should be refrigerated and/or used within a couple weeks.

We are harvesting garlic this week!  We'll offer it for sale green right now, which just means it hasn't been dried yet but you can still use it as you normally would.  We also have organic blueberries from Bluegroves this week.

As always if you have any questions please let us know!
