Farm Happenings for April 16, 2021

Posted on April 11th, 2021 by Michael Hoke

Everything seems a whole lot warmer and greener here at the farm! We just transplanted our first field planting of brassicas. It feels great to be planting outdoors again! As always, we're keeping busy with our regular spring weeding and seeding. We're seeding all of our leeks this week, which we'll begin harvesting in the fall. We're also working on seeding tomato and pepper plants that you can take home and care for yourself. We did this last year and had such positive feedback from our members that we decided to do it again! New this week, we have chives, green onions, red Russian kale and pea shoots! Although these early signs of spring are limited, we are so excited to be harvesting from the fields! Our greenhouse basil will also be available this week.

From Pfennings, we have bananas, strawberries, oranges, broccoli, and peppers on the list.

Happy Spring,

Sarah
