Farm Happenings for October 8, 2020

Posted on October 4th, 2020 by Michael Hoke

This is the last week of the summer CSA (week 20)!  We take one week off next week to get our hoophouses in order and begin our large fall harvests of our storage crops (and maybe even take Monday off!).  So no share next week.

If you have egg cartons you've been saving up, we need them!  Leave them out on pickup day or bring them with you to the farm when you pick up your share.  Thank you!

This week we have a boat-load of beautiful broccoli so we've put it on special.  We are also adding celeriac for the first time and clearing out our small planting of celery.  If you've never used celeriac it is a very similar plant to celery but used for its bulb at the root.  It has a mild celery flavour and is really nice shredded into a slaw like salad or used in a soup.

The fall "season" start Oct 22nd and you should have received info about "auto-renew" by now if you aren't already signed up for the fall.  If you change your mind and want to cancel after being signed up, the procedure is straight forward.  Let us know if you need any help adjusting or changing your order.

Happy Thanksgiving!  We are super thankful to you for choosing to buy vegetables from us.  We honestly love growing this stuff and we're honoured that you go out of your way to get vegetables from us.  We're working hard to adjust to the current conditions and make sure we can continue growing and providing for as many people in our local area as possible!
