Farm Happenings for May 28, 2020

Posted on May 25th, 2020 by Chris DeVries

First week of the summer CSA!

Sorry for the delay in getting the delivery estimate out.  We have some issues we're working through with Harvie and it took some time to make sure members were setup correctly before I could send this out. But it's here!

If you have been doing farmstand orders with us for the last couple of months, you know that we have been bringing more items in from Pfennings organics and some of our friends that are at the Western Fair market with us.  We are going to continue to do that as long as it makes sense so that we can both accomodate our early CSA customers and further farmstand orders.  Here are some vegetable notes for this week:

- tomatoes from our greenhouse are just starting to flow in.  This week we are putting quarts of "tomatoes" which could be large, cherry or a mix.  Very soon we will have enough for choice and everyone will get some but be patient for this week.

- we have lots of cucumbers and salad mix this week and then small amounts of many other spring vegetables and herbs.

- Next week we will have fresh bunched carrots and probably some fresh beet bunches from our early hoophouse crops

- we have only a small amount of our own asparagus and I can't confirm a quantity to purchase from Orchard Hill or Mazak locally.  If I can get more I will add it to the inventory on Wednesday.

Finally, I have been getting help from my sister-in-law, Elle for support from customers.  If you need help with putting together your order please email us and Elle or I will do our best to give you instructions.  If that doesn't work for some reason, we will get on the phone with you and help you get your first order together with us.
