Spring/Summer CSA and a few words from Lazy Willow Farm!

Posted on February 4th, 2019 by Lisa Merva

Welcome to Week 5 of the 2019 Winter CSA!

In case you missed the news, we've opened our signups for our Spring into Summer CSA, which starts April 8. Feedback about our new customized share program has been overwhelmingly positive. I hear that folks are verrrry excited that they'll now be able to purchase extra warm weather favorites such as strawberries, blueberries and tomatoes when the season comes around.

This week, here's a little update from the brother and sister team at Lazy Willow Farm in Washington, GA:

"Hi all! Melissa and Ben here from Lazy Willow with our farm update. Since we started farming over ten years ago we’ve tried a lot of different crops and we’ve got some favorites; asparagus, potatoes, garlic, onions, and peppers to name a few. This winter a new favorite has been added to the list: Brussels sprouts. They were incredible. Vigorous growth, low maintenance, and they tasted great. We were a bit late in planting them last year, so we weren’t able to offer them to the Winter CSA, but we’ve got high hopes of getting them to you next time."

I sure hope so, Lazy Willow! But in the meantime, we've really been enjoying the rainbow-colored potatoes, sweet potatoes and carrots grown by the farm.

Let's eat!
