It's the last week! Thanks for a great season!

Can it really be? Your last produce delivery for the season is headed our way now.

On behalf of all of us at Collective Harvest, I'd like to thank you for your continued support of local family farms and vendors. When you choose to eat local food, you are making a decision that is good for you, good for the planet, and good for the local economy! Click here to read more about that.

Take a look at the picture above... these are just some of the sweet, hard-working people who have been growing your food. From left to right:

Melissa and Ben Legette, the brother and sister team at Lazy Willow Farm in Washington, GA

One of our founders, Carter Dodd of Diamond Hill Farm in Athens

Josh and Jennifer Johns (and fam!) of Hickory Hill Farm in Carlton

Another founder, Jacqui Coburn, of Front Field Farm in Winterville

I have a few end of season housekeeping reminders....

1. Fall CSA signups are live! Here's what you need to know:

a. The Fall season runs 14 weeks from August 12 to November 15.

b. You can expect lots of "summer" produce like tomatoes, melons and okra (as well as sweet corn!) for the first several weeks of the season, then the greens and roots (like sweet potatoes!) will start coming back. I expect we'll have potatoes, onions, garlic and winter squash the whole season. For later fall fruits, you can anticipate local apples and (fingers crossed!) muscadines and scuppernongs.... food, food, glorious food!

c. We have a couple new pickup locations (Hip Vintage and Handmade & Rubber Soul Yoga) and a new member perk-- $5 yoga classes at Rubber Soul!

d. We will be discontinuing the Wednesday 4-6 pickup at our headquarters as well as the pickup at Daily Groceries, but I'm hoping that you'll be able to find something else that fits your schedule. Check out all the options here

e. As a courtesy, we are offering auto-renew for current members into the Fall CSA. Keep your eyes peeled-- I'm sending several emails about it so that the news gets to everyone.

f. I'll be sending out a survey to CSA members soon. We would really appreciate your honest feedback. This is our first year with the Harvie platform that lets us create customized shares, and we'd love to know what you think! ... and what else do we need to know?

g. Do you have a friend or family member who might like joining our produce share? If you refer a friend and they complete the signup, you will BOTH get $20 in credits to use on fun stuff like and Luna Baking Co. Rosemary Sea Salt Epi, Cultured Traditions Beet Kvass (!), and Georgia Grinders Pecan Peanut Butter. To do this, log in to your account and select "Refer a Friend" from the menu. That will give you your own personal referral link to share via email or social media.... and when folks use it to sign up, you'll both automatically get credits.

For the last Independent Baking Co. Bread Share of the season, we are getting....

Ciabatta!!

I love this one. It's perfect for summer sandwiches using all these wonderful fresh veggies.

Set the table, folks... It's time to eat!

In gratitude,

Lisa Merva
