Farm Happenings for July 23, 2020

Posted on July 20th, 2020 by Amanda Yeckel

Last week of the season! wow. It was very long yet so quick!

This week we will deliver most shares in paper bags so that we can take inventory on our totes and ice packs and give them a good scrub down. This would be a great week to set out a cooler with icepacks in it to put your produce in. All deliveries should be done by 1pm on Thursday and Friday but, anything can happen! Please give the house a scan and gather up any tote bags, ice packs, and egg cartons you have this week so we can start the next season fully stocked.

Those of you on auto renew will get an email tomorrow about your next season share and you have until the 24th to make any changes to it!

We leave town on Thursday for a few days to get some cool air. We will be back in time to organize, clean, sanitize, and plan out or fall/winter season. My favorite time of year!

Again, thank you all for such a wonderful and successful season. Thank you for understanding our growing pains and hanging in as loyal members through our ups and downs. Whether you were with us pre Covid or post Covid, we appreciate each and every one of you. This is truly community supported agriculture. Actually no, its more than just that. Revenue from our members pays for my son's school tuition, our salaries, our employee's salary, and even Alex's (my son) part time salary this summer. The jury is still out on whether or not he will want to be a second generation farmer. He's not exactly a morning person and doesn't love working for his mom ;)  Bottom line - You all are creating JOBS and collectively making a little family's dreams come true. When I started this farm almost 3 years ago, they laughed.  Everyone thought I was nuts.  Well...... I think its safe to say WE DID IT

PS- There are FREE eggs on the extras tab this week. Please give a dozen to a family member, neighbor, friend, coworker, or anyone you think might appreciate farm fresh eggs. Feel free to take a dozen for yourself as well. They are limited so if you can't find them in the extras they are most likely taken already. Please keep spreading the word about our little farm - you guys rock
