Farm Happening for Deliveries Week of September 2nd

Posted on August 28th, 2019 by Jodi Danyo

New this Week:  Parsley & Clarion River Organics' Red Potatoes!   Single serving watermelons continue this week with more Yellow Doll, Sweet Beauty and Red Seedless...

Did you know that we grow over 200 varieties of specialty cut flowers?  High diversity, small space is our mantra!  We sell most of these specialty cuts to florists all over the Pittsburgh region.  We also do our own design work for weddings and special events, when we can find the time!  Check out some of our bouquets here:

This Past Week on Our Farm...

It's hard to believe that September is here already. The tomatoes are really slowing down now and we're over the main harvest peak of cucumbers.  Squashes are still looking good, but it won't be long until we make the transition back to lettuces, salad mix, kales, pac choi, and other cool season veggies.  We're personally looking forward to the arugula in a couple of weeks!

We are actually almost done planting veggies for the rest of 2019 and that is saying something!  This week, we worked on keeping the squashes and pumpkins weeded, and sowed the last of the lettuce plugs in the greenhouse.  We were also busy cutting flowers for a special event this weekend, and getting the cafe stocked for the upcoming holiday weekend.  Come out and see us sometime...
