Farm Happenings for June 16, 2021

Posted on June 11th, 2021 by Mike Finger

Hi, Friends: We are still without a functional irrigation pump, so the cooler and sporadically wet conditions of the past week have been a blessing.  We should have a new motor and reassembled pump by mid week, in time we hope for the next predicted warm spell.  The garden is looking good and most of the crops are maturing without much insult either from bugs or diseases. But the cool dry conditions have slowed growth, and yields in some crops seem modest (case in point: broccoli raab).  Peas make their first appearance this week as does Broccoli. We thought we might have some zucchini to put in the boxes, but they are taking their sweet time to fill out, with the cool temperatures their excuse.

Thank you for returning your box (gently folded flat without ripping or mangling).  We notice more of you are unpacking your boxes at the site into baskets, bags, etc of your own which is the best way to go for both of us.

Preferences: You can change your preferences at any time during the season, as much as you like.  This gives you the ability to craft your harvest to match the seasonal availability of our crops.

If you have any questions about your share, don't hesitate to contact us.

Your farmers,

Mike, Kim, and Crew
