Farm Happenings for February 6, 2020

Posted on February 4th, 2020 by Janet Aardema

Happy February! We are so happy to have vegetables for you, though we are uncomfortable with how warm in general this winter has been. We like a good cold to set in - it helps the bug population die down as just one benefit. But the benefit of warmth is some extra vegetable growth, so enjoy your options this week.

Our new Broadfork Farm tote bags are available for purchase in the Extras section. They are made of hemp, have straps of just the right length, and have an internal pocket for a wallet/shopping list/phone. We really like them and are glad to be able to offer them to you!

On the farm we have already started seeding salad mix, spinach, peppers, tomatoes, scallions, lettuce, beets, and more - in addition to seeding broccoli and kale that will are for plant sales (for you to plant in your own garden!). The greenhouse gradually fills up throughout February, and then in March it will be bursting at the seams and stay that way through April. If you don't pick up your share here at our farm, we hope you can find a time this spring to visit and see all the abundant growth that provides food for you.
