Farm Happenings for January 25, 2020

Posted on January 23rd, 2020 by Janet Aardema

Deeper cold is settling in (it finally feels like winter!), which we welcome because it theoretically helps break pest life cycles. We're not sure how practically this works, but we love seasonality and cold mornings and evenings warmed by a woodstove, so we embrace winter weather!

Thanks to our hoophouses and greenhouses, we have greens, herbs, carrots, and turnips to offer you this week in addition to our delicious Breads. Plus - see the "Extras" page for our brand new Broadfork Farm tote bags! Made of hemp, these bags have an inside organizer pocket for your phone/wallet/car keys/shopping list. Plus, the navy blue will hide the inevitable mussiness that comes from toting around fresh vegetables. These were printed at a local printer in Richmond (Triple Stamp Press) that uses water-based screen printing because of minimized environmental impact.

Enjoy your options this week, and stay warm!
