March Mudness?

Posted on March 5th, 2019 by Janet Aardema

Welcome to March! Our 2019 crew is rolling in, plants are growing, and the mud is not yet receding. We may be sobbing from drought conditions this summer, but for now we continue to wish for the ground to dry out a bit. It still too wet to do much of anything in our fields, which we are sad about. But plants are growing and our days are getting much busier outside with the actual work of farming. It's time for us to wrap up the winter projects we took on (building, moving, fixing, and organizing things - including the crop and seeding plan, and filing taxes!). Meanwhile, we are still relying on our hoophouses for what you get to eat this week! Thank goodness for covered growing spaces.

As you look forward to spring, remember that we grow some seedlings in our greenhouse that are for sale for home gardeners. We'll list the exact plants soon, but know that you can look to us for tomatoes, peppers, kale, arugula, lettuce, herbs, and more. You can buy plants through this system, or you can buy them at our farm and at our market booth. Plant sale season stretches from the end of March through the beginning of May.

Thank you for being part of our farm, and enjoy your food this week!
