Reminder: Final share is Nov 23

Reminder: Final share is Nov 23 (or Nov 16 if you have a bi-weekly share on that schedule)

Can you see it in the photo?? We have some carrots ready to harvest! Pictured is our youngest child who has some serious love for our carrots. They are the hardest crop for us to grow -- they are challenging at every single step in the process: Seeding, germinating, adequate growth, and harvest. Our success rate (harvest as compared to what we planted) is the lowest for carrots out of all the crops we grow. So, carrot harvest is always a celebration around here!

We had a film crew here last week, thus the camera that you can see on the left side of the photo. Virginia Cooperative Extension is compiling stories -  by audio and video - of a few farmers around the state and we are honored to be included. Stay tuned for that to be released!

Greens, Cabbages, Broccoli, and the last of the fruits are delicious options this week, plus just a few Beets and Turnips in addition to the Carrots. We don't have as many roots yet as we would have hoped, but there's enough for everyone who wants them to have at least one of the three types.

Winter Squash will be ready for your shares next week. And we're still crossing our fingers that these Brussels Sprouts will mature properly! Look at the little babies as of now:

Enjoy your options this week. We're so happy to be growing food for you --

Best,
Janet & Dan
