Dog Days

Posted on July 8th, 2023 by Danielle Boerson

What do you get when you combine long, hot summer days with a new puppy?  The dog days of summer!

That's about where we're at... Watering everyday to keep the crops growing while getting distracted by a snuggly, floppy new farm dog named Bear.  Our old girl Bella is taking her time warming up to him, but in spite of the occasional growl, she's getting attached to her new companion.  Any way you slice it, keeping pace with a pup is putting pep in our step.  And it's a good thing too, since all the vines on the farm are fruiting.  While we steady ourselves in the stream of cukes and zukes, we're gearing up for picking beans and tomatoes, beans and tomatoes.  Did someone say tomatoes??  It's time to start harvesting tomatoes on Monday, and there's no turning back.  Tomato time is about to begin!

With so much variety now, it will be a fun surprise to see what mix-up is heading for your table.  If you want to move the pieces around a bit, be sure to customize your share this week.  And as always, we hope you enjoy every morsel!
