Breaking Ground

Posted on July 22nd, 2022 by Danielle Boerson

Ground has been broken for this season's Big Project.  We are underway on our solar pavilion, which will house a farm store and covered patio where members can come pick up their orders, visit for a bit and take in the view.  What started as a desire to get the farm on renewable energy has turned into a slightly heftier building project that we hope to have wrapped up by the end of 2022.  Our long time friend Ed continues to be a partner in projects at the farm and is helping Mat auger holes, mix concrete and pour footings.  So far so good!  We'll keep you posted as the project advances and the pavilion comes into existence.

But don't worry, we're not getting too distracted from growing great food for you!  Our hands are busy bunching, cutting, washing and bagging as we harvest the crops that are now coming in abundantly.  As you may have noticed, the cherry tomatoes are just getting started, so it's safe to say that our toes are over the line into peak season.  Keep an eye out for peppers and melons, as they will be ripening soon!  We haven't peaked yet, so we expect the variety and volume to continue building.  Look out, veggie lovers!  There's much more on the way!
