Farm Happenings for June 23, 2020

Posted on June 19th, 2020 by Agriberry Farm

Welcome to week nine of our farm share season. This week, we are bringing you a very diverse box with one unit of strawberries, one pint of blueberries, one half pint of raspberries, and a quart of peaches!

How beautiful and well rounded this share will be.

I hope you all have found rest and relaxation this past weekend, celebrating fathers in anyway that is most fitting for you. My grandfather turned 89 over the weekend, and he is still playing tennis! This is motivating to me, encouraging me to take better care of myself, and to eat more berries of course ;-)

Summer is officially here with the solstice being today! It is the longest day of the year folks, so get outside, get some sunshine, and take it all in! Summer solstice can be a lovely time for reflection and re-visiting goals and aspirations. I like to use the extended length of this day to pause and meditate on all that this first half of 2020 has taught me. I have never had my eyes opened up to so much in a short six months.

Anyway, on a fruitier note, I want to remind you all about the perishability of our berries. We highly recommend either eating, processing, or freezing all RED RASPBERRIES the same day as your pickup. Red raspberries are extremely perishable, and while we do our best to pick the day before delivering, they still have a short shelf life-- especially compared to other berries.

As we say at Agriberry... Keep calm and berry on! We are all set for another great week!
