Frankferd Farms Fried Tofu

Frankferd Farms Fried Tofu

From the family at Frankferd Farms: “We grew up eating our family’s version of fried tofu all the time, with pancakes at breakfast (extra delicious dipped in some syrup!) or on sandwiches.”

Ingredients

Extra-firm tofu
Nutritional yeast
Salt
Some form of soy sauce/tamari
High heat oil

Instructions

Slice your block of tofu into ¼ inch thick pieces. Either pat dry or let the slices sit out to dry out a bit before cooking. On a flat plate, make your breading — coat the plate with a hefty dose of nutritional yeast and a pinch of salt.

Heat a cast-iron skillet on medium-high heat and coat with oil. While skillet heats press both sides of your tofu slices into the breading. Place breaded tofu in the hot skillet and cook until slightly golden/crispy on both sides.

While tofu is cooking, lightly spray the tofu with some aminos for an extra umami kick.

This is a great protein to serve alongside Frankferd pancakes, a tasty standalone snack, or a fun addition to a sandwich with sweet relish, lettuce, pickles, and mayo!
