Doing Our Part and Feeding Our Neighbors

Dear Farm-ily,

The news headlines regarding the coronavirus pandemic in the past days and weeks have been a constant source of discussion in the Willowsford Farm offices and fields. Like you, we're thinking carefully about ways to support each other and our community during a difficult time. We want you to rest easy knowing that our farm is keeping a close eye on guidelines from the CDC, the WHO, and the broader medical community to be sure that we are effectively protecting your health, as well as the health of our crew. Every appropriate measure for hygiene and sanitation remains in place, as always, on the Farm. With any evolving risk to the community, we will continuously re-evaluate those protective measures to be sure we are providing you with the healthiest, safest, and most transparent food supply available.

To that end, we know that some of our local chain grocery stores are experiencing shortages of certain items. We know that an important measure of containing the spread of coronavirus in the community is social distancing, and that means minimizing our trips to busy public places. While we haven't yet figured out how to grow toilet paper, we have greens in our fields, eggs in the coop, and meat in the freezers! We have put together a one-time, online purchase option for a veggie box of our Winter and Spring crops that are ready for a harvest next week, plus other items a la carte.

Although we are offering these veggie boxes through our online CSA platform, please keep in mind that this is NOT a share commitment for the coming season! This is a single purchase, plus the chance to stock up on some extras like eggs, honey, and Willowsford pork. We encourage you to take advantage of the swap features to fill in anything that's missing in your kitchen. Don't forget to scroll down to "Extras" for freezer meats and additional eggs! Veggie boxes and extra items can be ordered through our Farm Stand Online sign-up page by entering your email address into the top yellow box with the header "Not Quite Ready to Be A Member?". Then, you'll receive an email to finalize your purchase.

We'll be fulfilling these orders Wednesday March 18th, with options for either home delivery or Farm Stand pickup. Everything you buy will be custom packed and ready for you through whichever option makes you most comfortable.

We know this is a little different than our normal customer service; if you're interested in stocking up, but you have questions or you need a hand, please send us a message at farm@willowsfordfarm.com. We'll be answering emails all weekend. We deeply appreciate your patience with us as we work to adapt our system and create a new option that fulfills a new neighborhood need. Thank you for being part of a community that we're proud to serve.

Eat Well and Stay Well,

Ashley, Collin, John, Lex, Alexandra, pups, pigs, and pullets
