Farming fails are hard to stomach.

When things go wrong on the farm, it’s very hard to accept. Often in life we have the opportunity to repair things or make things right, but when crops fail to grow as expected or floods come and destroy the crop there is nothing to be done. We must wait until the following season to try again. I heard an old farmer reply when told that he must have allot of experience, “no I have allot of experiences.” I’m young, so I have only a few experiences. Last week was a little bit of a struggle on the boxes and we ended up substituting many items out due to harvest estimation mistakes and crop failure. If your box exactly reflected what you received in your box, than you were lucky. Summer is wearing on so what we have growing is what we will have. Only a few more short day greens crops can be grown before the snow flies. Thanks again for supporting our farm! We know we aren’t the only choice around, but we do strive to be the best choice even when things don’t go as expected.

P.S. New this week is tomatillos! Also, our flower bouquets are top notch now and hand made by Shelli. Red field tomatoes are starting. Snag some jersey (small and super sweet) transitional organic blueberries from Blue Paradise Farm this week.
