Farm Happenings for September 30, 2020

Posted on September 27th, 2020 by Shelli and Paul Meulemans

It feels like thanksgiving is around the corner when we are digging sweet potatoes, picking up squash and pumpkins, and turning ground into cover crops for a winter blanket. We thought we’d do a trial this year of sweet potatoes, so we planted 1200 bed feet. Turns out, that’s allot. We’ve dug about 1000 lbs so far, and I think we are about a third done. Sweet potatoes have to cure so they’ll be going out starting next week. Yum! Unfortunately our winter squash and pumpkins leave allot to be desired this year, but we have enough for everyone to get some. Hope you love fall vegetables even though we will have tomatoes, peppers, and watermelon for a bit longer. Get em while you still can! Oh yeah, try our eggs too. There legit! Organic, pastured and yummy!

P.S. This is the final week of delivery for some of our local members. Whenever your shares end, you are welcome to login to your Harvie account and go “Farm Stand” to request notification to be able to purchase a share through October each week. The weekly shares are available from Monday morning until Tuesday at 6am (same as your CSA) for purchase and customization and the delivery schedule is exactly the same.
ALSO, if you’ve enjoyed our produce, we’d really appreciate you leaving a review on our Google Maps listing and tell your friends! CSA sign ups will start for 2021 by January! And we are planning on expanding our CSA even more next year with more delicious produce for you. Thank you.
