Farm Happenings for July 8, 2020

Posted on July 5th, 2020 by Shelli and Paul Meulemans

We are just entering the heat of the summer, this is the time when the fruits of our labor start to really show in the field. If we’ve done a good job, it’s a time of bounty. What we need to do now is get our fall crops out in the field. It seems wild to be putting crops in for fall harvest now, but most of our brassica crops and a few others are continuing to get transplanted out into the field. Pretty soon we have to start thinking about seeding for next year! Some of you have gotten onions in your box, these we seeded a year ago. Planning is crucial for a successful farm business, but is truly a continuing learning process.

Most of you have been good about returning your boxes, but there a few that haven’t been doing it at all. Thank you for doing that! We figure we can save 3-4k$ on packaging by reusing the boxes, it adds up fast!

Thanks for supporting the farm!
