Just Perfectly Peachy!
It's almost peach season folks! Late last week we began our first harvest of peaches for the season. This week we are offering bulk seconds peaches for sale, with minor blemishes only impacting their looks, certainly not their taste! We're just pulling in small numbers of "perfect" peaches to start, but you can expect to receive peaches as your fruit shares soon!
Warner Farm has been undergoing a slow transition towards fruit farming over the past few years. We began with berries and have since planted apples, peaches, nectarines, plums, even grapes! Our first peach orchard was planted in 2016 and sprawled over 2 full acres of our farm. But then in 2018 we lost a large chunk of the new orchard due to excessive rain and flooding. We learned a lot about growing peaches in those years and have since replanted the orchard and then some! Our current orchard now spans over full 3 acres and consists of roughly 700 peach trees. It takes a peach tree about 3 years to fully mature and start producing tasty peaches that we can harvest and sell. We are really looking forward to 2022 when all of our peach trees will have reached maturity and peaches will be flowing in from the fields daily like our strawberries. As Farmer Dave says, "Peaches are second only to Warner Farm strawberries."
