Farm Happenings for July 15, 2020

Posted on July 12th, 2020 by Trent Loewen

Wow, 3 inches of rain in the last week! Things were pretty wet here for a while, but now with the sun shining everything is really growing. Beets are ready this week, also the next planting of radishes. Potatoes and carrots will be at least a week yet. They got a slow start because of the cool spring. We're just starting to pick the first tomatoes from the greenhouse. Lots more veggies will be ready in the next week or two.

We are pleased to be offering some additional products to add to your box: fresh, homemade bread from my Mom, pasture raised eggs from our friends' farm, and fresh picked flower bouquets, grown and arranged by Tammy. The selection of bread will vary by the week, also the flower bouquets won't necessarily be as pictured, it will depend on what she has blooming each week. The eggs come from our friends Jerry and Michelle who have the chickens in movable chicken coops that get moved to fresh pasture regularly. These are delicious, nutritious farm eggs! Look for these things on the extras page, and feel free to ask us if you have any questions.
