Farm Happenings for July 1, 2020

First farm share going out July 1!

We are excited to be starting with our farm share deliveries this week! We have been busy getting plants and seeds in the ground, pruning, trellising, and controlling weeds. It has been quite a cool spring though, so if the selection looks a bit sparse for the first few weeks it's because the crops have been slow to mature. Right now we have some beautiful romaine lettuce coming out of the field, and the greenhouse cucumbers are in full production.

Are you familiar with sunflower and pea shoots? They are harvested young, at about 8 days, and are packed with nutrients. The pea shoots taste like fresh, green peas and the sunflower shoots have a great crunch with a flavour almost like carrots. They're great in salads, wraps, and sandwiches, or just eating straight out of the bag!

Our newest product is our homemade ranch dressing! It's excellent on salads or as dip for fresh cucumbers. Try it, you won't go back to store bought dressing! It's available on the extras page.
