Farm Happenings for November 11, 2020

Posted on November 10th, 2020 by Tim VonThun

Hi,

I cannot believe that the end of the CSA season is already among us! In an overall challenging 2020 we feel that as a whole the fruits and veggies did pretty well. We wish the pears, plums and some of the peaches in the state didn't get frozen out in the end of April and we wish that summer plantings of squash and cabbage did a little better, but we we pleasantly surprised to have sweet corn into October and peppers and tomatoes into November! We hope you have enjoyed your CSA share this year and will join us again next year.

At this point we are not ready for 2021 sign ups - I promise we are working on it - we hope to have them ready in the next week or two.

This week you will be recieving cider with your shares again and pie pumpkins - for those of you at host sites please remember the cider and pumpkins will not be in your bag, they will be in boxes nearby. Full shares please take 1 gallon and 2 pumpkins, half shares take 1 half gallon and 1 pumpkin and personal shares take 2 pints and 1 pumpkin.

We are excited to announce our Thanksgiving produce bundles that we are doing for the first time! Orders must be placed online and they will be available for pickup Tuesday November 22nd. We have small and large bundles with all of your Thanksgiving favorites as well as many other farm favorites like donuts, pies, cider, kettle corn and more! We are also partnering with Ashley Farms in Flanders, NJ to offer Jersey Fresh Turkeys! To reserve a turkey we need an online deposit by Friday 11/13.

Click here to visit our online thanksgiving store: https://vtf-custom.square.site/s/order

We also have some beef shares available on our other online store that can be picked up this week: https://von-thun-farms.square.site/s/shop

Thanks again for a great CSA season! We'll be in touch soon!
