CSA Week 14!

Posted on September 7th, 2020 by Tim VonThun

It is crazy how we have reached the end of the CSA season already! 14 weeks up and 14 weeks down! We want to thank you all for being a part of our CSA Farm Share program this year and hope you have enjoyed it!

**The produce estimate for this week is not complete and there will be more added to your basket but I'm not 100% sure what it will be until we get into the fields tomorrow morning and start picking. #SURPRISE!

This week is the 6th and final fruit share, however this will not be the final beef share week; we are waiting for some more beef to come back from the butcher and will let you know as soon as it comes in and is ready for you guys to pick up.

In you bags this week will be VIP Passes for our fall season. They are the equivalent to a general admission ticket and will give you access to our activity area, hayrides, corn maze and pumpkin patch (pumpkins and apple are extra). This year we are doing timed tickets for entry to manage crowds due to Covid, so the VIP passes will be a little bit different than in the past. This fall your VIP passes will be valid on any September weekend day (Sept 19, 20, 26 or 27), or on a Thursday or Friday in October (this year our activity area will also be open Thursdays and Fridays throughout October.) These are traditionally a slower part of the season for us and will allow you to come at any time you like on those days. (You will NOT need to make a reservation to use your VIP passes like our traditional customers.)  If you need to purchase any additional admission tickets you can do that through our website: VonThunFarms.com; we will be getting our tickets online later this week. We will send out an updated email within the next week regarding the VIP passes once our ticket system is launched in case anything has changed.

At this time of year we often get questions about signing up for next year...please hold onto that thought as we do not have our 2021 CSA software ready yet. We typically launch this in late October or early November and we will be sending out emails when that time approaches.

Again, Thank you so much for being a part of our CSA Crop share program this year!

--Tim

P.S. If you haven't used your sunflower trail tickets it will still be open for a few more days (definitely through Wednesday and potentially a few days longer, it depends on the weather.)

Note: If you have any shares currently on "hold" from a previous vacation be sure to add them in for tomorrow, as this is the last week of the program.
