Farm Happenings for October 31, 2023

Posted on October 26th, 2023 by Shiloh Avery

Happy Halloween!  Since I'm sending this before our Halloween revelry, I don't yet have pictures of our costumes, so enjoy this picture of Jason and I from our wedding 20 years ago.  We're officially (in my book) in the throes of fall now.  With all the celebrating of October (birthday, anniversary, Halloween) over, and all the planting for fall complete, we now look to deconstruction of annual crop supports and sowing cover crops, planning for next season, fixing all the broken things, and looking toward reconnecting with family over the upcoming holidays, and, of course, eating heavier foods:)  This week marks the last of the green beans and jalapenos (the hold outs of summer that persisted into the fall).  I hope your Halloween is full of fun costumes and at least a small amount of candy;).  Enjoy your fresh vegetable harvest for health!
