Farm Happenings for October 24, 2023

Posted on October 19th, 2023 by Shiloh Avery

What a strange season it's been.  We've been an average of 10 degrees cooler than "normal" all season long, yet here we are at nearly the end of October without a killing frost.  Still harvesting Turmeric, beans, chiles, and even some okra as relics of summer, while the greens are exceptionally happy as if it's fall.  The brilliant colors of autumn creep down the mountain and mornings are bundled in winter hats and long johns.  October is transition.  Enjoy your transitional harvest!
