It sure is starting to feel like summer! Last week we farmers celebrating getting over the hump of our plantings.  We have planting activities every week at the farm: new lettuces, carrot beds, fall broccolis and cabbages, etc.  All of these plantings are scheduled to give us a steady and diverse array of produce to offer our CSA, farm stand, and restaurant accounts.  Last week we planted almost 2 acres of winter squash and pumpkins, the last two large-scale planting projects of the year.  Now we focus on harvesting, irrigating, weeding, and keeping fallow fields healthy for future growing seasons.  Stay tuned for the next big farm project: The Garlic Harvest! We need lots of volunteer help and will be sending our e-mails with detail of when we will be harvesting and cleaning the garlic.

Stay cool and enjoy your veggies!
