Let Soup Season Begin!

Wow, is September the best month or what?  We've got a beautiful mix of summer and fall veg for you this week, and are very busy transitioning the farm for the new season.  Light frosts are here, and harder frosts are coming so we're forging ahead with fall greenhouse transitions, and also trying to bring in the last of summer's bounty.  I'm torn between exhaustion and nostalgia this week.  I want to preserve all of the food, and eat as many tomatoes as possible, but wondering where the time is going!

This week, we've got the last of the german butterball potatoes for you (YUM.), along with the first of fall celery and green cabbage.  We've got plenty more sweet strawberries for you, and more cherry tomatoes and cucumbers to help you savor the season.

Don't forget-- we've got 15lbs Pork Boxes available for the next few weeks from Apricus Farm! The average box currently includes (though items can vary slightly):

3 packs of chops (2 chops per pack, so total of 6)
1 pork shoulder roast
1 leg roast or pork shank
1 leg steak
2 pork bellies (1 pound each)
2 packs Italian ground sausage (1 pound each)
2 packs regular ground pork (1 pound each)
1 pack back ribs or spare ribs or a tenderloin
 

I hope you've got some comfort food on your menu this week, and are finding time to relish the earlier evenings around a good meal.
