There were a lot of first for the season this week. The picture is of the first okra flower. We just learned this season that okra flowers are edible. If we can get enough flowers at a time we may offer them. We also found the first Jedi jalapeno pepper today. On a not so good first, for the first time ever we found Colorado potato bugs on the eggplants! This is very bad potato bug are living eating machine and will completely wipe the eggplants if we don't keep on them. This will involve checking the plants every couple of days for eggs and larva. Along with some extra fertilizer to get them healthier. They got chewed on pretty hard by Flea Beatles which most likely weakened them.
