Farm Happenings for November 3, 2021

Posted on October 30th, 2021 by Peter Seely

Scallions and kale still to be harvested; some of the last crops still in the field~

This week's offerings:  New this week are daikon radishes, shallots, and some red fingerlings. Scallions aren't new, but we haven't seen any since early summer.  Brussels sprouts will be coming on the stalk this week. Some greens still coming on (arugula, spinach), and we send out the last of the eggplant and peppers. Red cabbages are on the small side. Look for spaghetti squash, pie pumpkins, Chinese cabbage, etc. from the extras!

Coming next week: Carrots, onions, kohlrabi, sweet potatoes, butternut or carnival squash, garlic (lots), celery?, baby hakurei turnips, scallions?, leeks?, kale, brussels sprouts, parsley?

Frozen blueberries will also be available with next week's final delivery.  We will send you the link soon to order!

Thanksgiving and December Storage Shares: Delivery for these optional shares will be on Wednesday, Nov. 17th, and Wednesday, December 8th.  Head to our website to sign up for them if you would like to be in on either (or both) of them if you would like.  If you are not sure if you signed up for them, checking your account with Harvie would clarify that, or send the farm an e-mail if that is difficult to do!

Thanks much for your support this year! We really appreciate your joining with us!  We are making plans about next year's offerings, and will let you know soon what might be available!  During the winter and early spring months, we plan on having produce, (as well as other items, including meat, butter, eggs, honey, etc.), available approximately every three weeks, with most of the deliveries sent out directly to your home instead of to a pick-up site.)  We will be in touch!

Have a great week!
