Farm Happenings for September 3, 2021

Posted on August 30th, 2021 by Peter Seely

Conveyor to help us get the onions into bins!

This week's offerings: New this week is buttercup squash. One of our favorite winter squashes!  Some of the bell peppers are starting to turn color, and some of you will start to see them.  Still plenty of cukes, and dill this week as well.  Asian pears (from Dave Bohnhoff's orchard a couple miles from us), San Marzano paste tomatoes, and some small delicata squash in the store (to swap or purchase) if any of you would like them!

Back to normal quantity of eggs:  The past couple weeks we gave all egg orderers extra eggs since the eggs were a bit on the small side.  Although we still have some of the 'pullet' eggs left, we will resume with the regular quantities of eggs.  Speaking of eggs, feel free to return the egg cartons that you get that say "Miller Farm" on them.  Other egg cartons we are not interested in collecting.

Coming soon: Potatoes, cauliflower, garlic

September coming fast!  Although we are finishing up the outdoor planting for the season, still plenty to harvest for the next couple months!  And, fortunately, not as much irrigating needed, with the few recent rains. Could still use some help with harvesting if you would like to join us!

Have a good week!
