Farm Happenings for August 18, 2021

Posted on August 14th, 2021 by Peter Seely

Part of the packing crew inhabiting the basement of our barn, here pint-ing up the cherry tomatoes!

This week's offerings:  New vegetables this week are eggplant, sweet banana peppers, and many will be getting the flat dragon-tongue beans as well.  There will probably be some cantaloupes also that we haven't seen yet!  We didn't plant a lot of eggplant this year, so there won't be too many offerings forthcoming! Looks like we'll have beans for all to get either the flat dragon tongue beans, or green beans.  Not too much zucchini from now on; the plants are winding down for the season!

Double eggs for egg-orderers: The Miller Farm has a bunch of new chickens, and so we are getting some of their pullet eggs.  Since the eggs are somewhat smaller, we are putting into your tote twice the normal amount of eggs that you have on order.  So not a mistake!  They will also be available for purchase from the store!

Look for peaches!  (For those who ordered them!)  We may get peaches one more time this year, or perhaps this will be the only opportunity.  We'll be in touch!

Cheers,
