NEW CROPS -- GREEN BEANS AND CARROTS!

It is always fun to see a new crop come along, and this week we have available both green beans and carrots.  As usual for our soil, carrots are often slightly misshapen, and not the perfectly cylindrical shape that carrots can assume when grown on sandy soil.  Green beans are a select, slim, variety.  Takes more beans to make a pound's worth, but very tasty!  In the picture above we have both our transplanter planting some fall Brussels sprouts, and another tractor getting ground ready for the final sowing of carrots, to be harvested in late October or early November.

ALSO, CHERRIES!  In the Extras section this week you can also order sweet cherries, which will be delivered not this coming Friday, but the following Friday (August 2nd).  These are the same non-organic sweet cherries from Edmonson Orchards near Traverse City that we have been getting for years.  You will have the choice of ordering 2 different size boxes - a 5 lb. box, and a 20 lb. box.  The charge for these cherries will be deducted from your credit card.
