The high heat of summer is finally here and our team is busy in the fields making sure we will have a full harvest for our CSA community. During the winter months, our team was busy making crop plans that would strategically guide our systems to adjust with the changing seasons. Now when they temperatures are starting to rise to high double digits, we have a plan in place that will make sure the crops we are planting will thrive in the heat and this season has so many delicious varieties planned for you to choose from. Last week, we were able to offer crisp, crunchy cucumbers and sweet fragrant basil along with many other items. In the next few weeks, we expect to be harvesting fresh bell peppers and sweet tomatoes straight from the vine. We have to admit that Summer is one of our favorite seasons because it is the time of year where you can honestly taste the difference in freshness when it comes to many of the ingredients found in your CSA share. We work hard to make sure that each of your items is harvested the morning before CSA distribution so you have an honestly fresh ingredient to enjoy and celebrate. Let us know what you think!
