The Sixth Week of the Spring CSA Program

Posted on June 8th, 2019 by Tadd Petersen

Welcome to the sixth week of the Spring CSA program! The farm is in full swing and the team has been busy making sure we have everything ready for our amazing CSA community.  The morning before CSA distribution, you will find each of us busy out on the farm gathering eggs and harvesting the items planned for that week. You can also see farm pup patrolling the fields, supervising to make sure everyone stays on task. In the afternoon, you will find us in the wash/pack room laughing and telling stories as we properly wash, pack and get everything organized for that night's CSA pick up. It is a team effort and our focus during this time is to harvest items at their peak, properly cool the items and ensure a high standard of quality for you to count on every week.  We have such an amazing CSA community and it is important to us to provide ingredients that you can count on.  We hope that you are enjoying the quality of your CSA share and would love to know what you think!  Let us know when you stop by to pick up your CSA share or write us a review on Facebook.

This week will have many amazing varieties for you to select includes Snap Peas.  This sweet and crisp variety was grown in the north fields and harvested by hand.  Snap peas make a great healthy snack because they are low in calories and high in fiber and Vitamin C. They are also easy to very easy to prepare and bring a fresh, sweet flavor to any dish.  Snack on them raw or quickly sautee in a pan with some garlic and lemon. Have a better idea? Let us know your favorite way to prepare them!  Tag us on Instagram or Facebook and we will make sure to share with the rest of our CSA community.

Thanks!
