Rivendale Farms CSA Newsletter, Week 8 (July 31)

Posted on July 27th, 2018 by Neil Stauffer

Hello Rivendale members. And a special welcome to any of you who may be receiving your first box this week. We are so grateful to have you all joining us this season.

So how are we doing? What is going well and what could be better? We have heard feedback from a few of you, but we would love to hear more. While we have plenty of experience growing food for CSA, we are always hoping to learn and improve. The best way for us to do that is to hear from you. So if there's something on your mind, please don't hesitate to reach out via phone or email. I will do my best to incorporate your thoughts and ideas.

We are glad to report that our tomatoes are starting to come in--especially the cherry tomato "funbox" (as we like to call our mix). We should have a pint or two for any member that wants one. If you don't have one in your initial box, please make some edits this weekend to add in some tomatoes. We are excited to share them with you.

Have a good one. And on behalf of the crew--thank you for choosing to eat locally and seasonally from our fields!

Neil

ps--This week's photo shows how we cure our onion harvest in the propagation house. Laying them out to dry in this space allows them to develop the characteristic onion skins, which help them store into the coming months.
