The sunny warm days are upon us and the spring garden needed a bit of a water boost. April and May weather has been great for growing generally but the wet January through March really slowed our outdoor spring garden down. We still have yet to harvest any kale or collards from the field. Current harvests are all coming out of our high tunnels. This watering and stable temperatures should get the garden where we need it to be.
Last week we planted okra, lima beans and field peas as well as melons and more tomatoes. Summer is coming!
