Rains and Growing Love: Your Farm Share for January 18, 2020

Posted on January 15th, 2020 by Nate Olive

We are in the second week of our farm share program and we now have over 20 types of organic crops available for you with many more on the way that we are totally excited about.  This week we are proud to introduce our bok choy, which has loved the recent rains and is offering exceptionally sweet and crunchy stalks for your veggie stir fries and more.  I suggest some soy sauce, it does wonders:) Also making an entry is a limited amount of baby arugula and heirloom "old timey blue" collard greens like grandma used to make.

The rains have brought rapid growth of many crops, but also many pests and weeds that we have been working on steadily to ensure a wide selection of crops this week and for those to come.

As a teaser, the tomatoes are finally filling out and starting to blush, so expect some more red in future weeks' boxes if that's your pleasure.

Last week we had 52% of our members make swaps and customize their boxes, so we encourage you to take advantage of that feature of the Farm Share program. We also had 20% of members add on extras from the remaining inventory of crops:) We are so happy that our farm members have control of what and how much goes in the boxes with the Harvie system.

We love to hear feedback on the shares, so please feel free to email us comments, Facebook links, and pictures of what you do with your fresh organic produce at home. Also, if you have questions on what to do with a certain item, or anything else, please reach out as we are more than happy to help you in your local organic food experience.

There are plently more beer shares of the Leatherback growlers, and few more of eggs.  We have about 8 more vegetable shares available as well, so if you like what you are getting, please tell a friend or post to social media with a link to our sign up page.

We hope you enjoy this weeks round of crops to its fullest!
