Farm Happenings for February 6, 2021

Posted on February 3rd, 2021 by Nate Olive

Our amazing carrot crop is in full force this week and cucumbers are just making a tiny entry into the crop list before next week's cuke explosion! Oregano, thyme, parsley and basil are holding down the flavor front. Tomatoes are going off with many more fruits to come in following weeks despite some plant disease pressure. The fennel is outrageous! Bulging papayas are now ripening which are so amazing for your body (especially for digestion), and are one of the largest herbs on Earth!

The farm staff is working hard and joyfully to deliver the pleasure in your kitchen and we give them all a huge shout out this week for tending your food so lovingly. From the crack of dawn to into the nighttime hours they are laser-focused on providing all the care it takes to bring a crop from seed to harvest.  Can I get an Amen for the crew?!

Looking forward to future weeks, bock choy is almost ready, the cucumbers will have a lot to offer, and some new fruits will be entering soon, including our sweet tamarind and sour oranges that are almost ready! Young pineapples are taking shape and we are seeing our first mango blossoms that will be delivering heavily in the summer season.

There is a huge variety of crops this week so please make sure to customize your share using swaps to get the share of your dreams this week!

In good food,

Nate & the Farm Crew
