Farm Happenings for April 27, 2023

Posted on April 21st, 2023 by Steve Young

Greetings!

So wonderful to see some color again! Daffodils along with some of the other early spring flowers in bloom are further signs to me that summer's on its way back. Right now I'm moving along with my spring plant propagation inside the greenhouses. Being cautious not to get fooled into planting outdoors too soon I'm going to remain patient and wait for a few more weeks. In the meantime I'll focus on getting the greenhouses planted. The spinach and the cilantro I'm now harvesting was planted in the greenhouses last January. Not much else grows at that time of the year.  Spring is here and with temperatures warming I now have some greater options. Beans, cucumbers, basil, tomatoes, lettuce, and more are all on my list to plant.

The online store style of marketing my produce may not offer the variety as with my traditional CSA program. Perhaps though you'll see it as a good way to still acquire those favorite summer vegetables and fruits you've bought from me in the past. When you receive the weekly email notices that my store is open for ordering take a moment to scan through and see what catches your eye. Thank you again for your ongoing interest in supporting the farm. Eat well!

Regards,

Farmer Steve
