Farm Happenings for September 3, 2020

Posted on August 28th, 2020 by Steve Young

Here's a normal Wednesday on the pack line getting ready for a Thursday delivery. Each box is individually packed by one person. As the packer goes down the line they place each item that's on the label into the container. Seeing all the produce on the line after spending the whole week harvesting is truly a satisfying experience. Not every day is a Norman Rockwell kind of day as sometimes the weather isn't always "postcard perfect". Still rain, sleet, or snow the deliveries must go on.

Hope your finding great use of for the food you've been getting. If you're finding yourself overwhelmed by certain vegetables go in and readjust your preferences. You can go in as many times as you like throughout the season to re-rate something perhaps you're getting too much of. At this time of the year getting too much of something can happen. Except when it comes to tomatoes. We're still having a good tomato harvest so if you need more I would certainly appreciate your support by buying more. If you're looking to can tomatoes send me an email and let me know how much you'd be interested in buying and I'll put you on my waiting list. The "roma" or "paste" tomatoes ripen slowly so I can only fill so many orders each week. Orders are filled on a first come first serve basis. That's all for now. Have a great week!
