Salad Greens are back this week!

Posted on December 3rd, 2019 by Ben Sayler

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We hosted Heather's family at our house this year. Heather did most of the cooking on Wednesday so we could spend time with family instead of working in the kitchen. Ben roasted a turkey that he got from a friend in Middletown-this beast of a bird weighed over 34 lbs! It turned out great and we have been enjoying all the leftovers, including homemade turkey pot pies. We were able to use lots of veggies from our CSA share (yes, we pack a box for ourselves) and it was rewarding sharing them with family. With Thanksgiving over, it is now time to decorate for Christmas and prepare gifts. Our son Griffin is 4 years old and is very excited for Santa Claus to come and has been requesting lots of interesting gifts-mostly dinosaurs and other animals. He also gets very excited for CSA day, so he can say 'hi' to everybody coming to pick up their shares. We have lots to offer this week and the farm is still producing well, despite the cold and cloudy days. Salad mix is back on the menu! To compliment your salad, you will also get olive oil and vinegar from our friends at Olive and Basket-a perfect dressing for your fresh greens. Thank you for sharing in the harvests this winter and we look forward to packing your box this week!
