Farm Happenings for December 8, 2021

Posted on December 5th, 2021 by Ben Sayler

Greetings from the Farm! Things are going pretty good with us. We got most of the Christmas decorations up and went to the first annual Walkersville Parade this weekend, followed by singing and stories at the Library with Ms. Claus.

We have a few new products this week, including hot sauce, new apple and pear varieties, apple sauce, and canned peaches. We also have the usual menu items, including all of the greens! The hot sauces are made by BroHo Hot Sauce out of Glen Burnie, MD. I connected with the owner, Jake, a few years back when we had an abundance of cayenne peppers. We have worked with them every season since and will be growing some special varieties next year for them. The red jelepenos, cayennes, onions, and garlic in the two we are offering were all grown on the farm. I love hot sauce and can attest that both of them are really good!

The weather is forecast to have a dusting of snow on Wednesday, but we don't anticipate any delivery/pick up issues. As we creep closer to winter and weather becomes a concern, we will keep in touch to make sure you can get your produce safely and adjust accordingly.

Have a great week and thanks for everything you do to support our farm and other small, local businesses!

Thanks!

Farmer Ben
