Farm Happenings for July 2, 2020

Posted on July 1st, 2020 by Liz Gorzo

Happy Canada Day!!

With last weeks rain and this weeks heat our food is growing fast. Lots of new produce ready for picking in all our farming counties. Hope you enjoy this weeks selection.

On our farm I have been battling weeds and bugs. After weeding our specialty potato patch, the beetles attacked and ate off so many leaves. Literally left some plants with just stick stems. :(   However, most of the plants will survive.  My radishes tops are about 5 cm out of the ground, they too have leaves full of holes. LOL seems we are feeding the bugs.

Thanks for feedback, the lettuces from our greenhouse were huge last week. Up next will be our tomatoes and peppers. The plants are full of fruit... still a few weeks needed for them to be full grown and ripe enough to pick.

Most of you are familiar with the cover photo on our profile. That one is of my daughter when she was 4. Yesterday she was keeping me company while weeding. This is an updated version of that pic... she is 10 now.
